Odessa Higgins

Odessa was a very devoted wife and mother for almost 60 years. She and Bobby traveled the world and she saw many spectacular things in her lifetime. She loved the Lord and was an active member of her church and Sunday school class. Some of her favorite things to do was to go shopping and play her guitar and sing with her “picking and grinning buddies”, cook and entertain but most of all she loved to be surrounded by her loved ones and to spend time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lizabeth Ann Gray.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Higgins of Texarkana, TX; son, Robert Higgins of Dallas, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Alana Higgins of Texarkana; daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Pete Gray of Texarkana; sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Bobby Lord of Colmesneil, TX; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous other family members.

Services will be 2 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2013 at East Memorial Chapel - Moores Lane with Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of East Funeral Home - Moores Lane.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 15, 2013 at East Funeral Home - Moores Lane

In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude’s Children’s research Hospital in Memphis TN.
