

Raymond Shade,91,of Texarkana, Texas, quietly passed away into the arms of Jesus Christ, his loving Savior on the afternoon of November 25th. Raymond, one of eight children was born in Kansas City, Mo., to Lena and Arthur Shade, on May 19th, 1922, where he resided until enlisting in the US Navy in 1942. He was selected for the naval air corps program, at the end of which he was chosen to be a fighter pilot in the Marine Air Corps. He is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma. He was a member and faithful worshiper at the Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church, Texarkana, Arkansas, and Believers Chapel and Community Bible Church in Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Rader of 38 years, his two daughters, Melodee Smith of Arizona, and Judie Huey of Dallas, Texas, and 7 of his siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Susie Atchley Shade, of 29 years, 2 sons, Raymond Shade II and Burke Shade, 2 step children, John Gentle and Katherine Gentle Weeks, one brother, Martin Shade of San Antonio, Texas, 17 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at East Funeral Home on Moores Lane on December 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday.
Funeral Services will be held at Texarkana Reformed Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 3, at 10:30 a.m. The burial will be at Restland Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas at 4:00 p.m.
