

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Karen Lynne Herrington George; his son, Aaron George; and his daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jason Leiva. He is also survived by one brother, Gary George of Little Rock, AR, and his nieces, Savannah George and Laneney George. He was preceded in death by his parents Marshel and MaryKay George and his brother William George.
Rickey graduated from Texas High School in 1978 and completed Southern Baptist Theological Seminary Extension classes. He was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church, and was also active with Bowie Baptist Association. He was ordained as a minister in 1995 and worked as associate pastor, supply preacher, hospice pastor and Sunday School teacher.
He also worked as a Chemical Terminal Operator for Flour for the last 27 years, and was a self-taught handyman who enjoyed tackling a variety of projects.
Anyone who knew Rickey experienced how much he loved God and adored his family. He had the spiritual gift of service and was always willing to help in tangible ways, as well as listen and wisely advise those who came to him in need. He was self-educated and was a self -proclaimed expert in everything. His passionate beliefs often culminated in delightful and spirited debate with his children. He embodied the definition of selfless and unconditional love.

The family will receive visitors at a memorial visitation on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane from 5:30-7:00pm.
