William “Bill” Akers, 58, of Texarkana, TX passed away May 17, 2015 in a local nursing home. Mr. Akers was born August 21, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN. He was a carpenter and a member of Wake Village First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Jackqueline Akers.
Survivors include his daughters, Crystal Samples of Senoia, GA and Nikki West of Senoia, GA; brother, Donnie Wilcox of Texarkana, AR; parents, Donald and Earlene Wilcox of Texarkana, TX; granddaughters, Mackenzie Samples, Sydney Samples and Bristan West all of Senoia, GA; and his former wife, Belinda West.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2015 at East Memorial Chapel – Downtown with Rev. Scott Neathery officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.
Memorial may be made to the Texarkana Animal Shelter.
