William Houston "Buddy" Anderson Jr.

He was born on July 5,1953 in Texarkana, AR to William Houston Anderson, Sr. and Vina Mae Shipp-Anderson. William attended Arkansas High School before joining the workforce and then going to work at Cooper Tire in February of 1979 where he worked for 33 years before retiring. He was a member of the United Steel Workers of America Local 752 where he served as Union president for several years. He worked with others each year to provide a scholarship for family of union members.

William was preceded in death by his parents William Anderson Sr. and Vina Shipp-Anderson and his brother-in-law M.C. Johnston. He is survived by his daughter April and son-in-law Randall Smith of Nash, TX, son Shane Anderson of Texarkana, AR, his sister Janice Kay Johnston of Ashdown, AR, his granddaughter Hannah Smith “baby girl” of Nash, TX, Special “grandson” Cody Mayton of Texarkana, AR, and numerous beloved family and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1pm Thursday, September 25, 2025 at East Memorial Chapel-Downtown with Rev. Wayne Welbourne officiating. Burial will be in Sylverino Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown,

Family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the funeral home.
