William McGinnis

William (Bill) McGinnis, 84 years of age of Genoa, Arkansas passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. He was fondly known by family and friends as “Papa”. Mr. McGinnis was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Victoria McGinnis. He is survived by three daughters, Agnes Carter and husband, Steven of California, Patti McGinnis and Bill Ellefson of Arkansas, and Rev. Thia McGinnis of North Carolina, grandchildren Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Justin Sells and Denise and Jason Carter. William has 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was one son in a family of 11 children raised in Alleene, AR, of which three are surviving. William and Victoria met and lived in California for thirty years and relocated to Genoa, AR in 1978.

Services will be at 1 pm, Saturday, February 15, 2014, at East Memorial Chapel-Downtown with Rev Thia McGinnis officiating. Burial will be in Alleene Cemetery, Alleene AR under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Friday, February 14, 2014 in the chapel at East Funeral Home.
