My Condolences from my Family and myself to Al's wife, children, Mark Suzy,  and family.  I grew up as the next door neighbors kid by his parents house in the 60's and 70's. My Mom was a life long neighbor and grew up with Al and his siblings in the 40'through the 70's. I remember Al and Mark were jokesters and were always laughing and cutting up. Guess that is where I picked up some of their wit and joking. RIP Al, say hello to Aunt Rita and Uncle Albert for us your Parents. Miss you all and will see you again one day. 

When I first met Al, I was working in real estate in Galveston, Tx..He was a very strong businessman, always working hard to make sure his properties were in good shape. He loved his homes and always helped people with renting a nice place to call home. I worked closely with him and he would always ask me for my opinion about what I thought of his work. He really enjoyed real estate and it kept him very busy. His homes have character and old charm with lots of beachy colors..bright yellow, purple and orange, Happy colors. During the years I worked for Al he always made me feel important and I will never forget that. I am forever grateful that I met him. A wonderful guy who had big dreams and created a home for so many people on the island. Now everytime I am at the purple place I will See my Dear Al. Thank You for everything!! I'm so sorry this happened and I wish you were still here.You made a big difference in my world and of so many others lives. I pray for your beautiful family to have the strength to carry on during this hard time. WE LOVE YOU AL!! You R Forever in our hearts 

I was stunned and saddened to learn of Al's passing. We have known each other since tenth grade at PHS, well over fifty years. I will always remember his big smile. I pray the God of all comfort will bring grace and peace to his wife and family through the kind words and deeds of friends during this difficult time.

Big Al & I were best friends for nearly 60 years. As teenagers we got jobs at local grocery stores to pay for gas so we could roam Houston playing basketball. Al, being the smart one, worked the cash register while I kept the lettuce on the shelf. As athletes, we were lucky & good enough to earn basketball scholarships to Lamar University, where we met Don Norrel. Don has remained a friend & a brother to Big Al & me to this day. I was so happy for him when he called to report that Janeen had a child, Justine & then later a son named Sam. Big Al had achieved his lifelong goal by becoming a father.
Last week we lost a father, a husband, a brother & a friend. We will all forever miss Big Al.

All the peace in the world!  Very good memories for all of you!

Sadness does not begin to describe my emotions when I heard the news of Al's death. A friendship that lasted over 55 years is a part of the very fabric of my being. Part of a small group of guys who transferred to public school in the 9th grade, we naturally gravitated toward one another. Over the years, Al was the glue, never letting too much time pass between contacts. He was a faithful friend with an infectious laugh.  There is a hole in my world.

I was so sorry to hear of big Al's passing. He was a great friend to our entire family. He was always very kind to myself and my brother Kent. I was proud to be invited to his wedding when I was in high school. He always treated me like a man even when I was still a boy. I will pray for peace to his wife and children. You will be missed Big Al. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

 I am so sorry to hear of Al's passing.  We attended St. Pius V elementary school and graduated together from Pasadena High School.  I am so glad that we got to see each other at our 50th reunion.  I am holding his family in my prayers.
