Tony was born on August 1, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Thomas and Connie Montemarano. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Don Monte.
He is lovingly held in their hearts by Lynda Peterson-Montemarano, his four children: Darlene Montemarano, Krissy (Mike) Ramsey, Bryan (Adria) Montemarano, and Jeremy Montemarano, his three grandchildren: Alex Sterzing, Taylor Sterzing, and Alina Montemarano, his two step grand children: Alyssa Ramsey and Samantha Ramsey, and his step great granddaughter Ava Lynn Ramsey.
Tony graduated from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, CA in 1964 where he was a star athlete. Upon graduation, he was drafted as a pitcher by the California Angels. A shoulder injury prevented him from pursuing a pitching career. However, the love of his life was coaching his sons in baseball through the years.
Tony graduated from the University of California Northridge in 1969 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. He was a proud member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Upon graduation, Tony went on to build a successful career in marketing and management. He was recently retired.
He was a dedicated Houston Rodeo volunteer for over 20 years and became a lifetime member of the Carnival Ticket Sales Committee. He also enjoyed being heavily active in philanthropic activities including the Houston Opera, the Houston Symphony, and the Houston Ballet.
Tony was a charismatic, fun-loving individual. He brightened many a day with his cheerful disposition and smile that could warm any heart. Tony had a true passion for life and made the most of every day. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten by any of the lives he touched.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, March 15, 4:00pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church (1015 Holman St. Houston, TX 77004).
