And We Are All Going To Miss Her.
Barbara Faye Halsey, age 81, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. She was born on December 3, 1938 in Houston, TX.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, sister and daughter. She married her loving and dedicated husband John on August 19, 1966, and always enjoyed that such a big strong man would let her call him Honey Bunny! They were married for 52 years, and built their retirement home on Lake Conroe, where they spent the last 26 years together. Their home quickly became the family gathering place, where they hosted many family reunions, holiday festivities, and countless activities with their children and grandchildren.
Barbara spent many years caring for her family. She was the caretaker for her mother, her husband John, and her daughter Susan during difficult times; it is comforting to know that this type of care was reciprocated by Cheri and Mike Harris as they cared for her in their home during her final years. Barbara and John were members at Calvary Road Baptist Church, where Barbara enjoyed teaching VBS and Sunday School. Barbara also loved gardening, cooking and collecting figurines.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband John T. Halsey, her daughter Susan Nanette Halsey, her parents William Curtis and Leta Mae Wilson, and her sister Janette Ward. She is survived by her sister Billie (and Royce) Hawkins; her daughters, Debbie (and Jimmy) Crane, Cheri (and Mike) Harris, and Janice (and David) Wheeler; her step-children Leslie (and Ralph) Harrison, Cynthia (and Dave) Twitchell, and John Halsey Jr; her son-in-law Rick Erickson; her grandchildren Alison (and Daniel) Murphy, Valerie (and Ally) Crane, Caitlin Crane, Erica Harris, Breana Harris, Christopher Kalil, Ricky (and Kimberly) Kalil, David Shane Wheeler; her great grandson Hudson Halsey Murphy; her nieces Kathy Ivie, Beverly Stephens, and Vicki Hawkins Cates; and her nephews Rick Hawkins and Steve Ward.
A celebration of Barbara’s life can be seen via Facebook Live on Tuesday, October 6 at 2:00pm by visiting your Facebook account or www.forestparkthewoodlands.com
