Barbie was born in Houston, Texas on October 25, 1947. She graduated from Memorial High School, where she met the love of her life and future husband, Jim, whom she was married to for 53 years.
Barbie was a technical secretary at Bonner & Moore until the birth of her first child, Pamela, in 1982. She welcomed a second child, James, in 1988. Her children were her whole world and she was an incredible mother.
Barbie enjoyed being outdoors in the mountains, cuddling with her beloved dog, Kayla, spending quality time with family, and she was a voracious reader. Her smile lit up every room she walked into, and her laugh was contagious.
Barbie was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, her parents, James and Harriet Thompson, and her brother, James Thompson.
She is survived by her children, Pam and Jimmy, and her children-in-law, Gary and Haleigh.
She will be sorely missed, but her presence is felt all around us, as we know she is at peace and reunited with her love in the Kingdom of the Lord.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 to be followed by a burial from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. A reception will occur from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM also at Forest Park The Woodlands.
