

Ben was born September 21, 1936 in Huntsville, Alabama to Eva Loretta and James Russell Lasseter. Ben was preceded in death by his father James Russell Lasseter in 1972.
He is survived by his mother Eva Loretta Newby and sister Betty Corn of Dothan, Alabama; his brother Joe R. Lasseter and wife Barbara of Guntersville; his sister Dorothy Sanders of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; his wife of 25 years Marilyn Lasseter of Spring, TX; his children Kimberly Lasseter Houston of Birmingham, Alabama, Kay Lasseter Landry of Spring, TX and Kristana Lasseter Davis and husband Mancil of The Woodlands, TX.
Benjamin was known as “Gentle Ben” by his friends and had a heart and soul bigger than life. He was “Papa” to his six grandchildren: Thomas, Kimberly, Justin, Wade, Chase and Carly and four great grand-daughters, Madison, Kaylee, Savannah and Kamryn.
He was passionate about life, especially flying, sports, politics, business and friendships. He attended Mississippi State University and spent the majority of his career in Houston as an ‘Independent’ in the Oil and Gas industry. Ben was a true entrepreneur and Chairman of the Board of several independent firms including Concorde Natural Gas Corp., Sunbelt Oil & Gas,
Venagri Inc, Agriven Inc and Lasseter Interests.
Ben will be remembered most for his gregarious and generous spirit, always willing to listen to and counsel his friends and family. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate Ben’s life will be held on August 6, 2011 at 4:00pm at Forest Park Funeral Home Chapel in The Woodlands, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ben’s name to: The American Heart Association, The American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
