

Carole Lynn was born on September 28, 1933, to J. Garland and Edith Bramlett Monk of Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas in 1950. In 1954, she graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's of Business Administration. She was the founding president of the Texas state chapter of Future Business Leaders of America. After college, she married Jerry Marcus O'Neal on January 21, 1955. In the late 1950s, Jerry and Carole Lynn were part of planting the first Southern Baptist Church in New York City. Later, Carole Lynn published lessons for teens for the Southern Baptist Convention. From 1969 until 1979, she served as the treasurer of the Louisiana Association of Educators. From approximately 1980-1988, she was employed as comptroller of the Houston Ballet. In 2005, Carole Lynn retired from VALIC as a financial services advisor.
Carole Lynn enjoyed her church, socializing, and genealogy. She had a smile that brightened the room. She was a member of First Baptist Church of The Woodlands, the Jamestowne Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Bay Area Genealogical Society, and the Texas Heritage Society.
Carole Lynn was preceded in death by her husband. She leaves behind three grown sons--Jeffrey Mark ( spouse Nancy), John Gregory (spouse Staci), and James Patrick (spouse Kristen). Carole Lynn leaves behind six grandchildren--Rebecca, David, Joshua, Meghan, Devon, and Rianne. She also leaves behind one brother, John William Monk.
Visitation to be held Monday, February 11 from 6:00-8:00pm at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands. Memorial services to be held at First Baptist Church of The Woodlands at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 12. Interment services to follow at Forest Park East in Webster,Texas at 2:30pm on Tuesday, February 12.
