Carolyn Sue Overby Breal unexpectedly passed away June 11, 2016. However, Carol would not have wanted us to focus on her death, but on her life. Carol was a wonderful mother, devoted daughter, fantastic grandmother, loyal sister, steadfast friend, and wife of 57 years to her husband, Henry. Carol was also an enthusiastic momma to her furbabies, and a passionate advocate for animal rescue. She was a special person to all who knew her.
Carol touched the lives of all who spent time with her. She spent many years volunteering at hospitals in The Woodlands, and greatly enjoyed the interaction she had there. The friendships she made there are everlasting. Her family and friends will always remember her for her humor and her quick smile. She will be dearly missed by all.
Those who will miss Carol include her husband Henry Breal; her son, Mike Allen; her daughters, Cheryl Young and husband Clint, Debbie Walters and husband Joe, and Suzanne Nobles and husband John, as well as her grandchildren, Breann Nobles, Michael Allen, Jessica Allen, Amanda Ballard, Kristin Powell, Brittani Parshall and Aimee Holloway. She will also be missed by her ten great-grandchildren, her nieces and nephew, as well as their children.
Carol had a legion of devoted friends, some of whom she never met in person, who will also miss her friendship and companionship. This would never be complete without mentioning her little rescue dog, Heidi, who we’re sure is missing her momma too.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Nova Overby, and her brother Joe Overby. To this day, she memorializes their passing on the anniversaries of their deaths, because that’s how deeply she loved. She is also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Austin Allen.
When you remember Carol, please do not remember her in sorrow, but remember her in the beautiful things you see each day. Remember her in the sunrises, the sunsets and the beauty in between. Remember her when you see colorful flowers, gorgeous mountains, a beautiful painting, or the wagging tail of a dog. Do not shed tears of sorrow that she is not here, but rather tears of joy for how much she meant to you.
In her memory, go out and do something that makes you a better person. Hold the door open for someone, pay it forward in the fast food line or donate blood to someone who needs it. Do something that makes you happy! Watch a good movie, listen to a song that moves you, play with your pets and eat a good meal. Never miss the opportunity to tell someone that you love them! Above all else, just be happy that you had the opportunity to have her in your life. We all were blessed to have that. Let’s honor that today.
Please join us as we celebrate her life on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Woodlands Funeral Home Chapel, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
As Carol was so passionate about her pets and rescue, her family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the Houston SPCA at www.houstonspca.org and clicking on the “Donate Now” button on the upper right corner of the website.
