He was born in Floydada, Texas on June 17, 1929 to Elsie and Simon Williams.
Bill entered the United States Air Force in 1951 and was assigned to the 3650th Instructor Squadron at Sampson Air Force Base in Geneva, New York. After an honorable discharge he attended the University of Texas where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in 1956. He made his career in “Competent Application Engineering” for companies involved in valve operator sales and production for the oil and gas industry until his retirement. Bill loved the country life and always enjoyed the outdoors whether raising cows, cutting hay or just working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father and his sister, Georgia Pride. He is also preceded in death by the mother of his three children, Mary Houston of San Angelo.
Bill is survived by his wife, Marcella F. Williams of Spring, Texas; his daughter Mary Eakman and husband Doug of San Angelo, son Mike Williams of Montgomery, son Blane Williams and wife Kim of San Angelo; and by her daughter Melissa Gandy and husband Larry of Pearland and son Joey Garza and wife Debbie of Tomball. Bill had numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 12:00pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384, with an entombment immediately following. A catered reception will be from 2:00 – 4:00pm in the Event Room at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery.
