

Charleen T. Gallo, 66, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2016 in Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles F. Gallo; her mother, Alvera Pomes Gallo; her sister, Patricia Gallo Frey (husband Arthur); and her niece, Tina Giluso. She is survived by her sisters, Judy H. Gallo and Cynthia Gallo Gagnon (husband Don); her nieces, Sharon Giluso, Dawn Frey Dennis, Jena Gagnon, Lauren Perry, Stephanie Perry, and Lindsay Fountain; and her nephews, Darrell McAlexander II and Douglas Gagnon. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Zoie, and a host of loving friends.
Charleen worked in the telecommunications industry for 30 years, beginning her career with South Central Bell Telephone Company in New Orleans in 1971. In 1994, Charleen relocated to Houston where she held various positions with AT&T, Lucent Technologies and Avaya including Services Technician, Field Service Manager and Project Manager. She was a customer favorite and received numerous awards for her outstanding service record. Charleen retired from Avaya in September 2001.
Charleen, known to her family as Nanny, will be remembered for her great humor, loving personality, and passion for the game of golf. In dedicating her retirement to competitive amateur golf, she was a member of the Texas Women’s Amateur Golf Association, Houston Women’s Public Links Golf Association, Gus Wortham Park Golf Course, Battleground at Deer Park Golf Course, and she was President of the Senior Women’s Amateur Golf Association of Texas.
Charleen was fiercely devoted to her family, friends, and pups, and she will be deeply missed.
Charleen’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Houston Methodist Hospital MICU for their care.
Family and friends are cordially invited to her memorial service on Saturday, May 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home and Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. Immediately following the service, guests are invited to a reception in the adjacent event room.
