Charles Roland Harmon was born August 21, 1939 in Buchanan, Kentucky to Belle and John Harmon and died on April 4, 2026 in The Woodlands, Texas. He graduated from Lemon Monroe High School in Monroe, Ohio in 1957. On September 25, 1959 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Patricia Taylor.
Starting as an apprentice for the New York Central Railroad, Charles worked for multiple railroad companies, earning the respect of many along the way. Companies he worked for included Penn Central Railroad, Conrail, Amtrak, Railcar Maintenance Company, and The Holland company before eventually retiring from Entergy. His hard work and dedication created a wonderful career for him.
After he retired, he became very busy with wood craft projects. The more intricate the project, the more he loved it! His interest for trains continued throughout his retirement as he collected memorabilia and shared stories with family and friends. He also enjoyed RVing with the family and sharing jokes with everyone. Though faith, family and hard work were what Charles valued most.
Charles is survived by his children Penny (Tim) Olson and Jonathan (Terri) Harmon. He is also survived by six grandchildren and their spouses: Tyler (Melissa) Olson, Patrick (Taylor) Olson, Trisha Olson (Max Roberts), Johnny (Jackie) Harmon, Liz (Clint) Van Allen, and Sara Harmon.
