

Charles Edward (Charlie) Provost, 82, a resident of The Woodlands, TX passed away surrounded by his family on April 3, 2017. Charlie was a true outdoorsman, a master fisherman and proficient hunter. He was also a skilled carpenter and creative craftsman. The result of his crafts were enjoyed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with his frequent and entertaining stories, he provided his family and friends with continuous lighthearted humor.
He graduated from Sunset High School where he enjoyed and excelled in athletics and attended college at Southwest Louisiana Institute. At the age of sixteen he started working at The Superior Oil Company where he worked for 40+ years. He met his beloved wife, Doris Faye Landry, on the dance floor in 1954 where they started their amazing steps together. In 1955, Charles and Doris were married at St. John's Cathedral in Lafayette, LA and continued dancing for over 61 years.
He was born in Lafayette, LA on February 16, 1935 to Robert Joseph Provost and Rose Aimee Moss. Along with his wife, Doris, he is survived by his sister Jerry Logan and husband Tom, children Pamela Rose Provost Lane and daughter Jenni, daughter Pennye Provost Garcia and husband Billy and daughters Kara and Kristi and son Michael, son Charles Edward (Chuck) Provost, Jr. and wife Roxanne and son Brandon and daughter Karli, son Mitchell James (Mitch) Provost and wife Crispin and sons Nicholas, Matthew and Nathan, son Jared Patrick Provost and wife Tiffany and daughters Jayden and Brentley, along with 9 great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded by his brother Bobby Provost and wife Romaine, sister Faye White and husband Bill, and grandson Clinton Lane.
