

He was born on September 19, 1925 to Matthew and Bertha Donohue in New Jersey.
Gene served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Southwest Pacific area attached to "Macarthur's Navy" Seventh Fleet Amphibious Force. He was recalled to the Navy during the Korean War.
He was very proud of the planning and execution with an Australian counterpart, of a joint U.S. Navy and Royal Australian Seventh Fleet Amphibious Force Reunion held in Brisbane, Australia in October 2000. A WWII memorial consisting of two stain glass windows depicting the American and Australian eagles were installed in Brisbane's St. John's Cathedral to coincide with the reunion.
Gene retired from the M.W. Kellogg Co. where he was employed for 35 years. Following retirement he provided consulting services to the company for 15 years. He was a senior member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, a past president of the M.W. Kellogg chapter of Sigma XI Research Engineering Society of America and co-founder, with Ray Leblanc, of the Kellogg Lunch Bunch.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Mildred (Millie), his daughter Donna Robinson, his parents, sister; Alice, brothers; Matthew, Edward, Harry, Jeremiah, Robert, Jack, Kenneth and his son-in-law Henry Robson as well as sister-in-law Mary Donohue.
Gene is survived by daughter; Linda Robson, son-in-law John Robinson, granddaughters; Jennifer Robson, Kimberly Robson, grandsons; Christopher Robson & wife Kari, Matthew Robinson, great-granddaughters; Ava Nicole Robinson, Ella Grace Robson, great-grandsons; Christopher (Charlie) Robson, Sean Booker Robson, sister-in-law; Rose Marie Donohue, niece; Marcia Pettit, nephew Jeffrey Angelucci, special friend, Barbara Heinz, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Eugene will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home & Cemetery, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 21, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, entombment to follow immediately after service. A reception will occur Monday, August 21, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX 77384.
