

Gina graduated from Christian County High School in 1970, from Murray State University with a BA in Psychology in 1974, and from The University of Kentucky with a Master of Social Work degree in 1977. Gina held several positions as a certified social worker in Kentucky, New Orleans, Louisiana and Pensacola, Florida until the birth of her first son, Nicholas in 1982, when she decided to devote her life to raising her children. Her second son, Michael, was born in 1984, just prior to moving back to New Orleans, where Gina and her family spent the next 5 years. In 1990, they moved to Stavanger, Norway and in 1994 to London, England, during which time they traveled to numerous locations in Europe, Scandinavia, Africa and the Middle East. In 1997 Gina and her family moved to The Woodlands and have lived there since then.
Gina has been a dedicated child of God for her entire life. She was an active member of the Crossroads Baptist Church in The Woodlands. Gina was an incredible, beloved wife and mother. She was a living example of the beauty of a life of kindheartedness, caring, selflessness and love. She brought immense joy and happiness to those who knew her, and are richer for the time spent with her. She is greatly missed. Gina is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ronnie Lee and Tommy Melton. Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, John, her sons, Nicholas and wife Rebecca and Michael and wife Sally and step father Thomas.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Gina's Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 15, 2013 in the Chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands. Interment will follow in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
