John passed away on June 13, 2024 and a little over one year later Flavia moved on from this life on June 26, 2025.
John and Flavia have walked a lifetime hand in hand. John was born in Port Arthur, Texas on May 31, 1932 and Flavia in Oil City, Louisiana on December 15, 1934. The two found each other at Henderson High School and later, both graduated with degrees from Baylor University.
The pair were married on September 5, 1952 and had seventy-one years together.
John was a pilot for the U.S. Air Force and continued his career with Continental and Delta for 34 more years.
Both John and Flavia were avid sports fans and were thankful for the memories shared between them cheering on their teams.
They were survived by their children; Brenda (David) Moore, Johnny (Barbara) Foote, and Kathleen Foote, grandchildren; Chelsea (Matt) Greenhouse, Jason (Rachel) Smith, Emily (Cody) Miller, Jessica (Clint) Appelt, Jamie (James) Davis, Dustin (Blaire) Smith, John Robert (Samantha) Foote, and sixteen great grandchildren.
They were preceded in death by John's parents; John (Lucille) Foote, and Flavia's parents; Horace (Papa) and Peggy (Sugah) Shook, Flavia's sister; Tommie Sue Moreland, and their beloved granddaughter; Jennifer Foote.
A celebration of Life starts at 10:00 AM in the Grand Hall at Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384.
A catered reception will immediately follow from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the R.L. Wood.
