Florencia “Ren” Cortes-Romani, daughter of the late Juanito Cortes and Sofia Paala was born on March 25, 1962 in Manila, Philippines. She attended primary and secondary education at Malate Catholic School and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at The Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines.
Ren, as a dedicated and caring nurse, served relentlessly at St Luke’s Hospital, Ben Taub Hospital , Lyndon B Johnson(LBJ) Hospital, Houston Northwest, Triumph/Kindred, Doctors Hospital in Tidwell, Parkway ICU, Methodist Hospital Willowbrook and other medical facilities. She embodied the ideals of a nursing quote: “Care for one..that’s Love, Care for Hundreds…that’s Nursing”. As a result of her love for her profession, her sons are both in the medical field - as a Physical Therapy Assistant(Kenneth) and like her, a Nurse(Martin).
Her loving memory will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Nexus Specialty Hospital in Woodlands, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Romani on April 24, 2014 whom she met in 2001 and married on June 8, 2001.
She is survived by her sons, Kenneth Nobleza of Huntsville, Texas, and Martin Nobleza of Houston, Texas; sister, Epifania “Fannie” Lar Ge with husband Timothy Lar Ge, nieces Samantha Lar Ge and Kimberly Warren with husband Jesse Warren and grandchildren Sophie and Holden of Magnolia, Texas; brother, Hernando “Nan” Cortes with wife Aurora Cortes, nephews Joey Albert Cortes and Jamieson Cortes of Redwood City, California; sister, Gloria “Iya” Medina with husband Andy Medina, nieces Nicole Medina, Jamie Medina and nephew Stephen Medina of Katy, Texas; sister, Carmen “Men” Faber with husband Roy Faber, nephew Matthew Faber of Rockaway, New Jersey; brother, Gaudencio “Gaudie” Cortes with wife Eileen Cortes, niece Maecy Kim with husband Adam Kim, nephew Raliegh Jean Cortes , niece Julienne Cortes of Sugarland, Texas; and a host of devoted relatives, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Throughout her life, she has been a good daughter, a loving sister, a dedicated wife, a caring mother, a sincere and fun loving friend…. She was called by our Heavenly God to a place where there is no more pain nor sorrow…only joy, laughter and smiles.
Ren was called by God early but…...
