Forrest was born August 19, 1934 in Clovis, New Mexico to Harry L Jefferson and Eula Octa Betts Jefferson; he was the youngest of three boys. He met and married the love of his life Ada Jo Underwood in Midland, TX. Forrest and Ada Jo were married March 15, 1955 and spent 66 years hand in hand united in love.
In his early years, Forest became an electrician and was a member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He began working for Brooks Electric as an electrician, building facilities for El Paso Natural Gas in Gallup, New Mexico. He became involved in the construction field and worked for many years at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Burlington, Iowa. Later, moving to Texas he became Vice President of RT Mayfield Construction Company in Austin, Texas, from where he retired in 1984 to pursue his passions.
Forrest’s greatest passion besides his wife and family, was golfing, achieving two holes in one at Meadowlakes Golf Club, Marble Falls, TX. He loved fishing, hunting, and gardening, and he would share his home-grown vegetables, peaches, and pecans with his neighbors. Forrest also loved to travel. After buying an RV, he and his wife joined The Marble Falls Good Sam's club. Not only did he serve as Club President, but there they also met many of their lifelong friends with whom they traveled throughout the United States. They made many RV trips, including trips to Colorado, and as far north as Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. Forrest and Jo also traveled places the RV wouldn’t take them, including cruises to Russia and through the Panama Canal, enjoying life and seeing the world. Centered around his family he never forgot his roots and was a proud member of The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. He loved God and was a Baptist, even traveling to Israel with his two brothers Charles and Ross and their wives to be baptized in the Jordan River.
