Born in Georgia, Frances Anne Burroughs was a shining example of a southern bell and a Georgia peach. Attending an all girl school in Macon, she attracted the attention of a gallant young officer in the US Navy at a local church social. After a long courtship that survived extended separations caused by World War II, Anne and Larry Plummer married on July 14, 1946. The couple moved to Austin, Texas where Larry finished college and embarked on a long and devoted life together raising a family. Over the next several years, the family moved a number of times while Larry pursued a career with the US Government. Despite having lived her young life solely in Macon, Anne became an accomplished mover and homemaker. She made a home for Larry and the children in Yuma, Arizona, and in North Augusta, South Carolina, and in Corpus Christi, Texas, and in Jackson, Mississippi, and in Shreveport, Louisiana, and in Pasadena, Texas and finally in The Woodlands, Texas. Anne was the person the author had in mind when making the statement “Home is where the Mom is.” She was an expert seamstress who was capable of turning any vision into reality. Her talent and eye for detail and finely crafted material was astonishing and she made the most of it when creating the warmth and glow for each new home and new group of friends. Larry passed away after 64 wonderful years but Anne carried on with a joy for life and family until her recent illness. A devout Christian, Anne is a member of the First Baptist Church of The Woodlands and a former member the First Baptist Church of Pasadena. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at Forest Park The Woodlands. Anne’s Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in The Chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands.
