Sending prayers of peace and comfort to his family.  I worked for Montgomery County for 19 years and knew the Judge, he was a great man and I was privileged to know him.

I went to work in the District Clerks office in 1980 and I vaguely knew who the District Attorney, Jim Keeshan,  was even tho I  had met him a few times. I actually got to really know him when I was assigned to be the clerk of his new 359th District Court. When we met for him to tell me what his expectations were in  working together I was so nervous, and yet, so honored to work alongside of a District Judge! He quickly put me at ease, as he could do so well. We worked together for 10 years. During that time I learned to respect him as a Judge and as a person. He had a sharp mind, was fair in his judgments and could read people like a book. He was a friend to lawyers and defendants alike. Over the years we became close friends, but to me he will always be “Judge”. I’m thankful he trusted in the Lord Jesus and one day we will see him again!

What a wonderful friend Judge Keeshan was to my dad, Grady James. There weren’t a lot of stories I heard growing up that didn’t involve Judge Keeshan. Prayers for peace and comfort for his family.

To all of the Keeshan family, I am mourning the loss of one of my closest friends.  Jim and I traveled many a mile together, and almost all were great.  I will have a high void in my heart and life with his passing.  Old friend, may you Rest in Paradise, forever and ever.

Sending our condolences to your family.  Judge Keeshan was always a good friend to my parents, Margaret and Travis Mitchell.  Thank you, Jim, for those good memories and thank you for serving Montgomery County.  You will be missed!

Judge Keeshan was my first real boss.    I went to work for him in 1986 which, in my opinion, was the heyday of the Montgomery County Courthouse, and I felt like I got a spot in the best court of all, the 359th District Court.    
Everyone respected Judge Keeshan.   He had an incredible memory.  If you appeared before him in court, he would remember if he had ever seen you or dealt with you on any level, especially if you hoped he didn't.    
Over the years, we formed a strong friendship.    He was a real friend.  He was also a father figure.   He tried to keep me on the right track, which was no small task.   He also tried to get me in trouble by causing me to laugh in the courtroom, which is not the best look for "the silent man between bench and bar" also known as "the court reporter."       I'll never forget his request for a learned treatise on kewpie dolls.    He is still making me laugh even today.
Of course, it wasn't always fun.  We listened to some of the worst cases of my career.   I remember his having to call a recess after particularly stunning testimony in a capital case.  I remember that he sat silently on the bench for several minutes of the recess, processing.   
My favorite version of Judge, though, was him in his Dickies coveralls and his fishing hat.    Just picturing him is bringing tears to my eyes.    
In later years, he would call and say, "This is Jimmy Keeshan."  I would say, "NOPE!   You are Judge Keeshan to me.  ALWAYS."
I'm grateful for every second.  Thank you, Judge Keeshan.

Though Judge Keeshan was a contemporary of my dad, Lynn Coker, he became a wonderful friend to me.  So many wonderful memories.  Loved him.

He Was A Great FRIEND Of Our's He Was Always Happy And Friendly,  He Also Married Us RIP We Will Miss You.🙏❤️
