

JAMES GORDON PERRY was born July 21, 1922 in San Antonio, Texas and passed away on August 19, 2011 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 89. He graduated from Little Rock Senior High School in 1941 and in his senior yearbook someone wrote “A Fine fellow whom everyone likes.” He served in the U.S. Coast Guard for three years. Gordon worked for Gulf Oil Corp and in commercial real estate. He loved gardening and fishing. Gordon was a family man and made his family first priority at all times.
This great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather will be deeply missed.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Aline Welch Perry; son, James Gordon Perry, Jr. and his wife Marlene; daughter, Gwen Schakett and her husband Jack; grandchildren, Rachel Schakett Lindas and her husband Vegard, James Gordon Perry, III, Sarah Perry Kiely and her husband Tholom, Lauri Schakett and Edwin Perry and special friend Sung Lim; great grandchildren, Luke Lindas, Heidi Lindas, Aine Kiely, Violet Kiely and one great grandson on the way along with some amazing nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, August 22, 2011 in the Chapel of The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
In lieu of usual remembrances the family request donations be made to The Woodlands United Methodist Church in memory of Gordon.
