

Janet Sue Barnett, 68, of Conroe, Texas, joined her Lord and Savior on February 23, 2018. She was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on January 24, 1950 to Paul and Jeanie Brogan. She has resided in the Houston area since the age of 2 years old.
Janet graduated from MacArthur High School in 1968. She married her high school sweetheart, Gene Barnett on March 7, 1970 and was his devoted soulmate until the day of her passing.
For 16 years, Janet was a dedicated employee in the Records Management Department of Mitchell Energy, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was an active member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church since 1975, where she formed some of her closest friendships. She enjoyed ladies’ Bible studies and singing in the Silver Belles choir. She had a passion for her God, her family, and her friends. She loved to read, to write, and to play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and silliness, and for her caring and nurturing heart. She always sacrificed for her family.
She was preceded in death by her unborn child and by her parents. She is survived by husband Gene Barnett; daughters Rachelle Thinnes and husband Terry, Amy Syptak and husband Jim; grandchildren Brandon, Kevin & Gracie Thinnes; Morgan Garcia, Mason & Marli Ketchum; great grandchildren Alex & Julian Garcia; sister Phyllis Carroll and husband Reggie; and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church on March 1 at 10:30 am.
