Jimmy Jay Bevineau, born on September 17, 1943, in Belleville, Illinois, to Gladys Brown Bevineau (Day) and Ralph Bevineau, was a vibrant soul and one of twelve siblings. He attended Belleville Township High School and, following his mother's remarriage and a military transfer, he subsequently ventured overseas with his family to Itazuke, Japan.
Returning to the United States, Jimmy pursued higher education at Tennessee State University, delving into the study of government. A proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, he continued his academic pursuit at Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC, marking the beginning of his legal career.
From his early days at The Library of Congress to later contributions at Suskind & Associates law offices, Jimmy's professional journey was characterized by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and a remarkable talent for forging meaningful connections. Notably, his extensive consulting endeavors defined the most significant chapter of his career.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Jimmy's legacy lies in his charming, witty, and one-of-a-kind personality which never failed to leave a lasting impression. He was an outside-the-box thinker who enjoyed coloring outside the lines. He was a beacon of knowledge and wisdom, a master of conversation, and he reveled in friendly debates. Jimmy could relate to anyone; he never met a stranger.
His interests included politics and football. He stayed abreast of current events and world news and never missed an opportunity to watch the Kansas City Chiefs games.
On October 30, 2023, Jimmy departed this world, leaving his loved ones with a tapestry of fond memories. He is undoubtedly making fast friends in his next life.
He is preceded in death by his mother Gladys Day, father Ralph Bevineau, and siblings Jerry Bevineau, Lumley Bevineau, Dawn Day, and Betty Lawhorn.
Jimmy’s legacy lives on through his daughter Jai Bevineau Prince, son-in-law James Prince, and grandchildren Kennedy Prince, Nicholas Prince and Victoria Prince; and his son Paul Santiago, daughter-in-law Rosemary Darder and grandchildren Julian Darder and Jordan Santiago-Darder.
He is further survived by siblings Annette Dowell, Ralph Bevineau Jr., Carol Johnson, Rose Marie Adams, Stephanie Meaza (and husband Mamo Meaza), Diane Adams, Chantel Smithey and sister-in-law Maria Bevineau, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
