Jorge is preceded in death by his son Jorge and his brother Arturo. He is survived by his wife Myrna, daughter Carmen, son-in-law Mark, grandchildren Frank and Carina, and sister Vangie. The family is deeply saddened at his passing. He was much loved by family and friends.
Jorge grew up in Puerto Rico and graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in 1965 with a degree in business administration. He was hired by Richardson Vicks and went on to enjoy a 30+ year career in pharmaceutical manufacturing, staying with the company through several mergers, ultimately becoming Procter & Gamble. For years, he proudly oversaw the production of popular products, such as Vicks Vaporub, Oil of Olay, and Pantene. In the 1980’s, he joined the P&G Latin America division, which brought the manufacturing of many Health & Beauty products to Central and South America. While he and the family formally lived in Caracas, Venezuela; he mostly lived on airplanes and hotels in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Chile, and Argentina. His travel also brought him to side trips including Tierra del Fuego and Machu Pichu. He loved to explore.
Jorge enjoyed playing tennis, a sport he picked up after his daughter Carmen started competing as a child. Jorge played for as long as he was physically able to do so, and it kept him young. Mostly, he loved being with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle and grandfather. In later life, he looked forward to Saturday afternoons with his son, grandchildren or daughter and son-in-law, whether watching a grandchild’s event, at the shooting range, building something in the workshop, or just being with the family, recounting his stories.
Thank you to all the friends and family who have shared their love.
