Hi,
I can’t believe 3 years have gone by since Kenny passed.  The movie tribute was outstanding!  He looks so happy, a quintessential family man. 

I remember making potholders with Kenny when we were kids. That was a big fad at the time.  I remember him being kind and sympathetic and funny. 

I hope he’s met my parents now wherever he is.  They loved him too! 

Dear Cay and family,
Kenny and I were best friends at English High School in Boston. We spent most of our free time together, both working and playing. I was the roadie for his Band  "The Tax Men".  Sadly we went our separate ways after high school but I never forgot those great years that we shared together. Last year we finally got back together at your home in Houston and I was so pleased to find out how wonderful his life  was and to meet the Love of His Life.
Since  then I began looking forward to sharing more time together with you both until I received the very sad news.
My heart goes out to you and your family and I stand ready to assist in any way I can

Cay and Family:
I am so sorry to hear of Ken’s passing.  He was such a an awesome man.  I remember my Compaq interview with Ken.  It was his excitement and passion that convinced me this was going to be something big.   He was right and it was the best move of my career.  I feel blessed to have known and worked with Ken.  He made a difference in my life.  He was a creative genius who loved his team and wanted to see all of us succeed.  Ken was also an encourager who pushed us to do more and be more.  I loved that about him.   I remember him nicknaming me “Kirchbomb”.  I’m not sure why but I took it as a term of endearment.  I also remember Ken as someone who had an excitement for life and who enjoyed sharing new experiences and things with everyone around him.  

The last time we met, I walked away thinking/knowing how much he loved his family and grand-kids.  He could not say enough about you all.  You were the most important part of his life.   The world has lost someone very special.  

Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.  You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.    


Cay, I hope you know how much love and respect Ken has from his friends and family at Compaq. Ken changed all our lives when he introduced event marketing to the tech industry. I still don’t know how he pulled it all off.  I’ll never forget the April 1985 announcement at the Wyndam Hotel at Greenspoint where he had a giant computer as the backdrop and a keyboard covering the stage floor. He had somehow arranged to get the Pointer Sisters there to sing their hit “I’m So Excited”. They were supposed to come on stage at about 10:15, but just as i was about to say the key words to bring them on stage, Ken comes up behind me and wispers, “Drag it out. They’re not ready.” So I stumble around for a few minutes until Ken comes back and says they are ready. It then went off without a hitch, resulting in major press coverage all across the country. He went on from there to arrange the Portable II announcemnet in Jones Hall where essentially all our Houston employees  attended and got to hear Irene Cara sing our theme song, “Flash Dance.” Then there was the Deskpro 386 announcement at the Paladium in New York City.  I was always nervous about giving the announcement speech, but Ken would put his arm around me and say “You can do it.” Since the Compaq days Ken and I have stayed in touch and he was always willing to help with anything I asked. He worked hard on the Compaq 30 year reunion at Minute Maid Park in November 2012. He created a 70th birthday video for me. Ken was a friend of the first order and I will miss him so much. He was, without a doubt, the most creative person I have ever known.

My heart goes out to you at this extremely difficult time. I would love to help in any way I can. There are so many pleasure moments we shared together and memories we'll have forever. 

I know with certainty that my life would have turned out totally different if I had not met Ken. He took me under his wing at a very vulnerable time in my life. He believed in me when I'm not so sure I did myself, first at Texas Instruments and then Compaq. 

When I look back in time, there are very few people who made such a big difference in my life and Ken was definitely one of them. As I move through life, I reflect daily on what he taught me. Reminders are all around me. I can still picture him acting like he's all stressed out, stopping, grabbing the stress off of his shoulders and throwing it to the ground as he yells at it to "get off"! He could make a very stressful time easier with the humor. Many of his sayings and actions are tattooed in my mind forever. We've all said it in our own ways but Ken was so incredibly creative, an awesome boss and most importantly an unrelenting friend. No matter the time or place, if you needed him, he'd be there. I feel so lucky to have known Ken.

I want to express my deepest sympathies to you for your loss.  I had a chance to reconnect with Ken at the screening of the Silicon Cowboys film at the Alamo Drafthouse.  We starting collaborating on some interesting new ideas that we both hoped would change the world.  Sadly, time was not on our side.  Ken was funny, self-deprecating and above all a good friend.  I'll miss the humor and passion with which he approached our project, but most of all, I'll miss just chatting on the phone.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time.

Ken Price was my boss at COMAPQ, my professional mentor and one of my best friends.  With his departure, I say goodbye to a very special part of my life. Ken lived BIG and took on the world like nothing could get in his way. He was outrageously talented, passionate and kind. He taught me the power of never accepting  "No" as an answer and encouraged me to trust my gut.  He pushed me when I was unsure and rewarded me when I succeeded. He was my professional compass during our years at Compaq and later when Cay and he invited me to work at their own marketing company – IUI. The bond we established was so special that we could communicate without speaking. To this day, it is hard to explain what we did together because it was so over-the-top, no one would believe us.  For example, I could say we hired the Pointer Sisters but only a few people really understood what that entailed and the enormous challenges we endured to “Make It Happen”.  I will miss his famous expressions: Cry like a baby, yada-yada-yada and his frequent use of the F bomb. Or his promise to run naked down the hallways at COMPAQ when the stock hit a specific price.  Just to be clear - It did, he did not. My last correspondence with him was April 1 this year. I call or text him on April Fools Day to threaten, scare or spoof him. A tradition that began when I advertised the sale of his Mercedes in the newspaper for half price. His phone rang off the hook.  The next year I arranged to have the operator notify him during a meeting that his car was being towed and he had 5 minutes to stop the proceedings. I have never seen Ken move that fast. 
So… goodbye to my friend Ken Price. I will miss him immensely.

On Monday, the light and sounds of the world dimmed by the passing of Ken Price. 
My heartfelt condolences go out to Cay and their children and grandchildren. 

Ken was the most creative person I've every worked with. He was outrageously creative in an environment alien to his ideas at the time. In an environment that thrived on order and quiet, in walks Ken with color, music and noise.  Skepticism was soon replaced by admiration after the reviews came in.  His creations captured industry and product attention and generated corporate excitement that soon became the standard in our nascent industry.  To borrow a title from a song by Shaggy, "Mr. Bombastic" was always looking for creative ways to generate excitement in the products that we sold and in the culture that we worked in.  Yes, our world will be less colorful with the passing of "Mr. Bombastic". 

Oh,  by the way Cay, remember the weekend trip you, Ken, Kim and I took to Maui Hawaii?  Only Ken would suggest a weekend outing to Hawaii. Great memories!

Dear Cay,  
My words cannot express the feelings I'm having after hearing of your/our loss.  Maura and I will be with you and your family in spirit & prayer throughout the rest of this week.  I first met Ken at TI Terminal & Peripherals in 1980 and quickly grew to admire and respect his creative talents.  Ken was my first hire for the future Compaq Marketing Team.  In my view, Ken led the way in Event Marketing for the entire Personal Computing Industry.  His creations were well above anyone else's in the industry.  I gave Ken the responsibility for creating Compaq's image for both our employees and the World.  He never let me down.  He excelled at everything he did.  A remarkable friend who I truly enjoyed working beside.  I've been very lucky to have been his friend and peer.  A special time...I'll always treasure.  Peace and blessings,  Bill

I grew up with Ken here in Boston,  we attended the same elementary and junior high schools and were in many of the same classes.  Ken and I were able to reconnect on Facebook.  I'm so saddened by his loss and send my condolences and prayers to your family. 

Miss Cay,   I was so sorry to get the news that Ken had passed.  We were "buds" together back in Boston and we spent our teen years running around.   It was so nice to recently reconnect with Ken after all these years. He was truly a good guy; faithful and loyal and I am so glad we found each other after all the years.   There is an old yiddish  word that best described Ken, he was a mensch and he will be missed. 

Cay, I can't truly express the sadness I feel today but I can certainly share some memories that make me smile. 

He  was my mentor at TI and helped me make the decision to leave and start my own business with Kathy Mehan. It was Ken who convinced (yes, convinced!) me to come onboard with Compaq which was the best career decision I ever made. The rest is history as they say. He was such a creative person. There isn't a soul at Compaq who doesn't remember the events that Ken created and we all loved, or the infamous "What a Feeling" multi-projector slide show only to follow that up with Irene Cara herself! I am so grateful and fortunate to have worked alongside Ken as a friend and colleague through these many years even as recently as his years at Baker Hughes. We created some pretty great stuff because of his genius. And I'm thankful that we had a true friendship outside of work, enjoying sushi and Peli Peli many times. I'm going to miss the ability to call on him for advice.

Dear Richard, Cay, children and all who loved Kenny, 
Hearing the news of Kenny's death was shocking and heartbreaking.   I'm still processing this awfully sad news.  I think of Ken as a happy go lucky man, a talented guy in many ways, a fun person and a caring person. I know how much he adored being a husband, dad and grandfather, and brother.  He was a favorite of mine back at our large family Seder dinners as children.  I have many specific memories, all good.  I remember when he built his parents a beautiful coffee table and the top consisted of all the matchbook covers he had collected for that purpose.  He wrote to my sister and I, after we lost our mom 19 months ago, moving and loving remembrances.  Too young for him to leave us.  May he rest in peace.  I loved him.   - Donna L Copman
