

Martha Louise Hansen Briscoe 85 of Sedalia, MO passed into the hands of God on March 21, 2024, in The Woodlands, TX. She was born on September 12, 1938, in Wamego, KS, a daughter of Gerhard and Helen Rowles Hansen. In 1960, she met and married Robert Edward Briscoe. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Benson Hansen. Surviving are three sons, Douglas E. Briscoe of Sedalia, MO; Alan D. Briscoe and his wife Lydia Keeney Briscoe of Camdenton, MO; Steven C. Briscoe and his wife Lisa Falen Briscoe of The Woodlands, TX, and two siblings, John R. Hansen and his wife Lois of Lynchburg, VA; Paul A. Hansen and his wife Mimi Farrelly Hansen of Longmont, CO; Four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Martha was raised with her siblings on a farm just south of Wamego and would later attend the University of Kansas. In 1959 she became an agent for Continental Airlines. In 1960 she met and married Robert Briscoe from Trenton, MO. While raising three boys she became an entrepreneur franchise owner of Popcorn World. Later she combined this business into her partner ownership of State Fair Floral in Sedalia, MO. Martha was a prideful homemaker and baker. She was awarded the purple ribbon Grand Champion at the Missouri State Fair for her bread baking ability. She was involved for many years in Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Sedalia, MO. She was a skilled gardener, beekeeper, and problem solver. There were no strangers to Martha, and she greeted everyone with an unforgettable smile. Her kindness and laughter will be remembered forever.
