Michael John Hagarty

Michael John Hagarty, 76, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away on October 19, 2024. Born on August 29, 1948, in Portsmouth, Virginia, he was the beloved son of Pat and Marjorie Hagarty and brother of Cheryl, Pat, Theresa, Laura, and Marian.

Michael is survived by his loving partner, Cheryl Wier and her family, and is preceded by his late wife, Gloria Hagarty. He was a loving father to his children, Ryan and Darren, and also took great pride in being a grandfather to his four grandchildren, Connor, Halle, Hayden, and Logan. Michael was also a cherished stepfather to Bryan Gros, Mark Ruth, Mellisa DeBouchel and step grandfather to their children.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Michael graduated from Texas A&I Kingsville and enjoyed a successful career as an accountant and CPA. He moved to Houston in 1970 and then to the Woodlands in 1988, where he continued to make lasting memories with family and friends.

Michael had a passion for life, evidenced by his love of fast cars (The Beast), bay fishing with his sons and his unwavering support for the 2 Time World Champion Houston Astros.

Michael will be remembered for his warm spirit, infectious laughter, and dedication to his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished moments that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A memorial service for Michael will be held Monday, October 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, TX 77384, followed by a catered reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
