

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Patsy Jean Bohannan passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in The Woodlands, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill J. Bohannan; her son, Billy J. Bohannan, Jr. and son-in-law Donald “Mike” Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Marcy Johnson; daughter-in-law Sherry Bohannan, daughter Carol “Bo” Halter, son-in-law Frank Halter; grandchildren: Michael “Eric” and Irina Johnson, Jodi and Matthew Rutledge, Michael “Chance” Mock, Matthew “Chase” and Amber Mock, Jonathan “Trevor” Mock, Brittany and Joey Boyd, Shelby and Chad Creel, Seth and Carolina Jensen, Shane and Nathalia Jensen, Great-Grandchildren: Macy and Alec Creel, Landon Rutledge, Vivian Johnson, Jaclyn Johnson, Cash Mock, Zella Grace and Huntley Scardino, Jensen Creel, Nico and Noah Jensen, Samuel and Catherine Jensen, Jaxon Boyd, Soren and Colin Zieler, “CJ” Mock, Isla Mock, and great-great grandson, Oliver Creel.
Patsy was born in Dallas, Texas, March 4, 1932. Patsy was the oldest of ten children and was much adored by her many younger siblings. She was preceded in death by her father Norman L. Davis and mother Irene Davis. She was also preceded in death by brothers; Norman Davis of Longview, and Thomas Davis of Halls, Tennessee; and preceded in death by sisters; Barbara Terrell of Daingerfield, and Alice Wright of Tyler. She is survived by brother; David Davis of Pine Mills, sisters; Sue Grandi of Mesquite, Nancy Johnson of Colorado, Karen Hiett of Winona, Dinah Webb of Florida, sister-in-law Mary Davis of Longview, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Patsy was named Watermelon Queen in Naples, Texas in 1950. That year she met and married Bill Bohannan, who was the love of her life. They were married for 63 years. They lived with their three children, Marcy, Bill and Carol in Dallas, and later in Midland before moving the The Woodlands in 1988. Patsy was usually the center of attention, and stole the show when she appeared with her family on two episodes of The Family Feud in the 1990’s.
Patsy Bohannan was a legend in the field of Real Estate. She began her career by selling homes in Dallas for real estate legend Ebby Halliday. Patsy was a pioneer in bringing credibility to women in real estate. At the time she got her license, most Real Estate agents were men. After moving to Midland, Patsy opened her own company, Carriage Company Realtors. In 1985, she was awarded the coveted and distinguished honor of being named Texas Realtor of the Year.

• Co-founder of Carriage Company Realtors in Midland
• Chairman of Tax Equalization Board, Midland
Patsy lit up any room she walked into. She had a heart as big as Texas and was adored all who knew her. The last decade of her life was made brighter because of her faithful companion and helpmate, Lorena Rowell. The family wants to acknowledge how much Lorena added to the joy that Patsy had in her final years.
