

Dr. Prudencio C. Avendanio, 80, of The Woodlands, Texas, the kindest of souls, a lover of literature and photography, a patron of sports, much- beloved husband, patient father, supportive brother, and true friend, passed away August 17, 2017.
He was born in Munoz, Nueva Ecija, Philippines on May 19, 1937 to parents Generoso David Avendanio and Maria Calica Avendanio. Dr. Avendanio graduated from the University of the Philippines, earning his Medical Degree (Doctor of Medicine) in 1962. He completed his residency and fellowship in Radiology at The Long Island College Hospital, New York, after which he practiced for nearly five decades as a Board-certified Radiologist in Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine in Texas and Arizona. He was a member of the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity, Top O’ Texas, Bukas Loob sa Dyos, and Divine Mercy Prayer Group.
He was fortunate to have loved and be loved twice in a lifetime. He was married to Amy (Alma) Avendanio for 31 years. Several years after Amy passed away, he found love again and married Annalyne Capote Avendanio on March 10, 2001.
Dr. Avendanio had a passion for nature, swimming, running, table tennis, reading books, eating at delicious restaurants, and taking pictures all his life. He enjoyed watching movies with his youngest son, Nathan; and in recent years, found joy in the precious visits with his grown children and their families as much as he could. He was a student of the Bible and a faithful churchgoer, always living his life through his strong faith in God.
He is survived by his wife, Annalyne Avendanio; his children: May Elizabeth Avendanio-Micale, Bernard Anthony Avendanio, Troy Constant Avendanio, Noel Nathan Prudence Avendanio, and Klarisse Espiritu Santo; his daughters and son-in-laws: John J. Micale, Timberly Avendanio, and Pharah Ambalong. His grandchildren: Luke Benjamin Micale, Hanalei May Avendanio, Xavier Troy Avendanio, Taylor Brooke Icenberger, Natalie Micale; his siblings: Luviminda Ortiz, Zenaida Ybanez, Trinidad Heaton, Dulce Malacas, and Generoso Avendanio II. Siblings preceding him in death: Claro Avendanio, Ben Avendanio, Corazon Avendanio, and Myrna Bano.
He was a good man who never put himself first. He was the best father in the world. He will be missed, but his imprint will live in our hearts forever.
A visitation will be held at the Chapel of Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 Interstate 45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384 on Monday, August 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. An additional visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 22, at the Chapel of Forest Park the Woodlands Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe, Texas 77301. A Memorial Lunch Reception will be held immediately following the funeral mass on Wednesday, August 23 by 1:00pm at Amerigo’s, 25250 Grogan’s Park Drive, The Woodlands, Texas (281.362.0808).
