Roland A. Garidel, Jr., 77, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Known as Buddy, he was a native Houstonian born October 1, 1938, with Louisiana roots. He attended St. Thomas High School in Houston and graduated from the University of Houston where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Buddy loved his Coogs and played baseball, along with other sports, for the U of H. He proudly served his country in the US Army upon college graduation. After a long career with Houston Lighting & Power, Co., he retired in 1995. He and his wife of 30 years, Sandi, enjoyed traveling stateside and overseas, and those who knew Buddy best remember his sense of humor and many trips to Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Buddy is survived by his wife, Lysandra (Sandi); daughters, Joan Nusselt, and husband, Ron, of Cypress, TX; Allyson Granowski, and husband, Joseph, of Austin, TX; stepson, Chris Perrenot, and wife, April, of Katy, TX; stepdaughter, Jennifer Perrenot, and fiancé, Peter Horvath, of Rhode Island; grandchildren, Alissa Carr and husband, Brandon; Adam Nusselt, Emery Perrenot, Jack Perrenot, Annaleyse Granowski; and great-grandsons, Peyton Carr and Preston Carr. Also survived by sister, Connie Texada, and husband, Dr. Palmer Texada, of Alexandria, LA, three nieces and one nephew, along with many other family members and friends who will greatly miss him.
A service will be held at Forest Park The Woodlands, 18000 Interstate 45 S, The Woodlands, TX, 77384. Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2016, at 10:00 AM with a memorial funeral service at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow the service.
