

John D. “Jack” Vinson passed away on April 29, 2010, in The Woodlands, Texas, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on November 25, 1923, to John S. and Willard Vinson in Glen Burnie, Maryland. He was a decorated World War II veteran who flew on B-17s in the European Theater and retired after 30 years of service from the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth Hall Vinson, as well as his 4 sisters, Mildred, Frances, Leona, and Margaret. He is survived by his son, Michael Vinson and his wife, Karen; his daughter, Judy Richardson and her husband, Dale; his grandson, Christopher Vinson, and granddaughters, Kimberly Walkley and her husband, Quinn; Cara Rinehart and her husband, Ron; Kellie Richardson; Jesse Vinson; his brother Harold Vinson and his wife, Beverly, as well as many nieces and a nephew. A memorial service will be held for Jack on Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 3801 S. Panther Creek Dr., The Woodlands, TX, 77381. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Grove Cottage of The Woodlands for their kind and loving care of Jack.
