Sophia is survived by her loving mom and dad, her brothers Mikey and Tyler her two beloved dogs, Ivy and Sadie, as well as so many special family and friends. She is proceeded in death by her beloved Pops and her favorite dog Scout.
Sophia was the brightest light and loved her friends and family so deeply. She was known for her unwavering compassion and selflessness, always putting everyone’s needs before her own. She had the most kindhearted and empathetic soul. She saw the good in everyone, regardless of who they were or where they came from.
Sophia loved writing, photography, going to church, sunsets, blue skies, the ocean, and, above all, spending time with her friends. She was a passionate volleyball player who found joy and fulfillment on the court where her spirit and energy shone brightly.
Some of Sophia‘s final words were “You can always find me where the skies are blue.” we know this is true. We see her in every blue sky, every rainbow and every sunset. We see her in the drive-through at Dutch Bros, pulling into Sonic, and cheering on her teammates at the College Park and club volleyball games. We see her in our laughter, and we see her in our tears, and we know she is no longer in pain.
Sophia had the innate ability to see the beauty in the world, even though she could not see it within herself. Sophia suffered from borderline personality disorder. It is a treacherous disease that eats away at your soul. It tears down the best parts of you and leaves you full of self-loathing.
Sophia was a passionate advocate for mental health awareness, driven by her own experiences and a desire to help others who might be struggling. Her willingness to listen and understand made her a beacon of hope for many.
In honoring Sophia’s memory let us remember her, not for the struggles she faced, but for the joy, love, and strength she shared with the world. She is now free from her pain and resting easy in God‘s arms.
Let us remember to #lovelikelu and #bekind
