Sotero “Deo” Felicidario, 57, of Spring Texas, went home to be with our Heavenly Father on October 7, 2025. He was born in Quezon City, Philippines on January 3, 1968 and spent the early years of his life in Westland, Michigan. Although the family moved to Spring, Texas, Deo returned to Michigan to finish out high school and graduated from Troy High. He returned to Texas and went on to complete his studies in Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Houston.
Deo was an extraordinarily talented artist, which he exhibited from a very early age. In his free time, he loved to draw, and pencil was his preferred medium. His love of drawing stayed with him, although he took a temporary detour in high school when he devoted much of his free time to being the lead singer of a heavy metal rock band.
Eventually, Deo’s preferred medium of art shifted to photography, and he truly loved his job as a Graphic Artist for Hollander Glass. But what was arguably Deo’s deepest love was the love he had for his son, Sebastian. He was incredibly proud when Sebastian became a United States Marine and continued to beam with pride when Sebastian pursued racing motorcycles. Deo’s love and admiration were unquestionably echoed in the remarkable photographs he shot of his son racing.
Reflecting on Deo’s life of late, a common thread is how his heart grew exponentially to envelop his great-nieces and great-nephews. In fact, for someone who notoriously avoided cameras for most of his adult life, we are blessed to have so many recent photos of him. Most of these were captured solely because he was, in some way, sharing time with one or several of the “little elves” as he so affectionately referred to them. Deo played a significant role in the daily lives of his family, and his spirit will continue to do so from above.
Deo was preceded in death by his father, Antonio “Tony” Felicidario. He is survived by his mother, Mila Felicidario; his son, Sebastian (Molly) Felicidario; his stepdaughter, Melissa West and her children, Benson and Avery; his siblings, Martin (Karen) Felicidario, Ray Felicidario, Marli Felicidario, and Maricris Felicidario; his nieces and nephews: Alicia (Ryan) Schaeper and their children Jordynn and Jacob; Brianna (Nathan) Lambert and their children, Avila, Mila, Jane, Alexander, and Rose; Matthew (Liz) Felicidario and their children, Edith and Ruth; Emma (Kyle) Townsley and their children, Oliver and Thomas; Joseph Felicidario, and Brendan Felicidario; and his partner, Paula Peabody.
