Steven Andrew Lips of The Woodlands TX passed away February 2, 2023. He was born in Buffalo NY August 10, 1963 to Betty and David Lips.
Steven graduated from Frankenmuth High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Ferris College in 1984.
Steven began his career with Restuara Dining Services, managing all the food services to 7 GM facilities in Saginaw for 10+ years. He enjoyed being part of the GM community and serving everyone who worked in all the various facilities – manufacturing, engineering and other functions.
Steven took his skills from that experience to the Senior Care industry for many years, starting in Michigan and then transitioning to several facilities in Texas, where he worked at both existing facilities and was a key leader in the development of new facilities. It was important to Steven to think about the community he was serving and provide them with the best quality of life and experience that he could create. The residents he served were very important to him and he wanted to ensure he provided a safe environment, with trusted staff members. He truly enjoyed the friendships he had with so many of his residents.
During that time, Steven also spent a really creative two years with Custom Pool Concepts, envisioning and crafting wonderful backyard spaces for families to enjoy.
Steven spent the rest of his career at REMAX, first as a partner in the Lips team partner with Betty Lips as The Lips Team at REMAX, The Woodlands & Spring and then as the Senior Team Leader. We know that his clients were the most important thing to him and that he strove to always make their experience in their real estate transactions personal to them, delivering a deep understanding of their priorities and needs and ensuring the highest level of support.
He was preceded in death by his father David Lips. He is survived by his mother Betty Lips, his sister Debbie Dunnam, his brother Robert Lips, brother-in-law Jim Dunnam, sister-in-law Natalie Lips, nephews Kian Lips, Milan Lepelly, Madsen Lapelly, and Aunts Penny Lips, Judy Smith, Joan Lips and Margaret Smith and Uncle James Smith. He also leaves behind many cousins.
Steven will be missed greatly by our family, all his business associates and clients as well as his and our friends. We hope that he is remembered for his willingness to always help anyone who needed it, his snazzy vests and most importantly, his smile and laugh.
