Ted was born in Reading, PA and grew up in nearby Shillington. His parents were World War II refugee immigrants from Ukraine, and Ted was always proud of his Ukrainian heritage. He graduated from Lehigh University with both a Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in Chemical Engineering, and worked as a chemical engineer until he retired at the end of 2019. He was a world traveler, visiting and working in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, the US, Canada, and his favorites Australia and New Zealand.
Ted loved to play golf, work out at the gym, and shoot hoops. He was a champion chess player and won many tournaments. He married his wife Kathy in 2002, and they had a happy life together in The Woodlands, TX. Ted told Kathy “stick with me and you’ll go places” and they did, traveling near and far, including several trips to Australia. They celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2022, and were completely devoted to each other. He was a loving, caring man of God who will be deeply missed.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Anna Pawlowska Fediw. He is survived by his loving wife Kathy Johnson Fediw; his cousins Sonja and Alex Zabolocki and their family in Australia; many dear friends; and Kathy and Ted’s two cats Harry and Snowball.
A Memorial service will be held for Ted in March.
