After graduating high school in Albion, NE, he served 3 years in the US Navy and in 1962 graduated from the University of Nebraska.
January 18, 1964, he married Letty McFarland. At 62, he retired from the Union Pacific Railroad where he was Business Manager of Chemicals in Houston, TX. He enjoyed volunteering at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and St. Vincent de Paul.
He is survived by his wife, Letty, and daughters Bridget Kelley of Madison, WI, Elizabeth (Mark) Saunders of Round Rock, TX and Ann (Woody) Fleming of Keller, TX as well as grandchildren Thomas, Sean, Michael and Eva. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (John) Muenchrath, and brother, Richard (Jan) Kelley, from Coos Bay, OR.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 22, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Forest Park Funeral Home in The Woodlands, TX. A funeral mass will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in the Woodlands, TX.
Memorial donations may be sent to St. Vincent de Paul at St. Anthony of Padua Parish or to the South Montgomery County Library in the Woodlands, TX.
