VIVIAN MARIE SMITH

July 6, 1927 - May 9, 2016

Vivian Marie Smith, 88, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on May 9, 2016. Marie was born

on July 6, 1927 in Spring Hill, Tennessee. She graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.S.

degree in Math. She had a career as a Computer Analyst with Shell Oil Company. She was

married to her loving husband, Arthur Leon Smith for 68 wonderful years.

Marie retired from Shell to work beside her husband operating their business, National Wholesale.

Marie had a passion for golf, swimming, reading, painting, knitting and embroidery,

cooking and working jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed watching football, basketball and golf with her husband.

She played basketball in High School and College.

Marie is survived by her husband, Leon; daughter

Sherry Holman Banta of The Woodlands, Texas; son Dewayne Smith of Austin, Texas;

and son Kent Smith of Kerrville, Texas.

Her Grandchildren include Michael Holman, Ashley Banta,

Bryan Banta, Ronda Smith, Ben Smith, Paige Smith and Ally Smith.

Great Grandchildren are Michael Cash Holman and Kallie Alexa Vinson.

She is also survived by her sister, Jane White and her brother, Harry Odil. Marie was preceded

in death by her parents and 7 siblings.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, May 15th, 2016 at Forest Park Funeral Home in

The Woodlands, Texas.
