He was married to Carol Ann Mollo on November 11, 1978.
Joe Joe worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years. He served as an Airborne Infantryman in the 101st Airborne Division.
He was a member of Special Attractions Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Joe Joe had a passion for baseball, traveling, and his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, oldest sister Diane Wilbourn and his only son Donald Wesley Birkenfeld.
Joe Joe is survived by his wife Carol, daughters Beth Birkenfeld, Amy Richey (Jay), Kate Wright (Mike); grandchildren Donald, David, Braden, Weston, Hailey, Savannah, Jenson; siblings Larry, Donny, John, Alice Redpath.
Visitation will take place on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home, 18000 I-45S, The Woodlands, TX 77384 with a Funeral service and Military honors rendered at 4:00pm.
