Wladimir W. Kestenbaum was born in The Free City of Danzig, on June 28, 1932. At the age of seven he migrated to Honduras with his mother as they fled from the war. As a young man he graduated from Chanute Air Force base as a Meteorologist. He was number one in his graduating class. He later graduated from The Pennsylvania State University where he received several degrees from the College of Engineering Sciences. He achieved FELLOW in the American Society of Civil Engineers and was also a member of Chi Epsilon, the Civil Engineering honor society. He was a pilot and served in the Honduran Air Force.
He was married to Catalina Paredes on June 9, 1959. They were married for over 65 years at the time of his passing!
Wladimir worked in many fields. He worked in civil engineering projects, land development, hydrology, meteorology, finance, banking, investing, and many more. Wladimir had a great passion for flying, tennis, hunting, adventure, and the ocean.
He is survived by his wife: Catalina, their three children: Diana, Allan, and Valerie. Their spouses Rafael, Lourdes, and Ryan. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren: Nicole, Rafael, Allan, Eduardo, Natalie, Daniel, Alberto, Ryan, Phillip, Jacob, Roger, and Destiny. Wladimir was also the proud great grandparent of Nicolas Enrique, Giulia Catalina, and Mateo Lorenzo.
No brothers or sisters survive him.
A funeral mass will take place on Friday January 3, 2025 at 1:00PM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church (Our Lady of the Angels Chapel) 8715 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring, TX 77382. The Inurnment will take place Friday January 3, 2025 at 3:00PM at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery, 18000 I-45 South, The Woodlands, Texas 77384. A catered reception will immediately follow from 3:30PM to 5:30PM in the R. L. Wood room.
