Berman "Dipper" Hansford Stepp, age 84, of Denton, North Carolina, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He was born in Logan County, West Virginia, on September 28, 1939, to Marvin Berman Stepp and Mary Elizabeth Meade Stepp.
After High School, he joined the Army and served with the 82nd Airborne. Following his time in the Army, he drove a tractor and trailer for twenty years. Later, he and his wife Mary owned and operated Mary's Pillows until their retirement. Berman loved watching the Western channel. He watched every western made at least twice, if not more.
He is survived by his three children, Jimbo Stepp and wife Cathy, Pam Stepp, Mike Stepp and wife Vicky; grandchildren, Jimmy Stepp and wife Staci, Jonathan Stepp, Elizabeth Stepp Dennis and husband Chris, Michael Stepp, Chris Stepp and wife Destiny, Rachel Stepp; great grandchildren, Lucas, Allisyn, Kylee, Jillian, Morgan, Sawyer and Oaklynn; three sisters, Gail Hatfield and husband Shelby, Denice Blankenship and husband Clettie, and Kathy Sue Blankenship.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Blankenship Stepp; two sisters, Betty Hatfield and Vena Wood; one brother, Aaron Stepp; and one son, John Stepp.
A visitation for Berman will be held Monday, March 25, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Sechrest-Davis Funerals and Cremations, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, North Carolina 27360, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
