

He was born on December 18, 1930 in Jackson Alabama to the late George Riley and Hattie Vaughn Rorex.
George was a member of Libery Baptist Church for 56 years and he was an active member of the Ben May Sunday School Class, he served on the Building and Grounds Committee, served on the Sunday school report Committee for 25 years. He was a truck driver for 45 years for Masonite in Thomasville. He loved deer hunting and fishing and was a member of the Price Richardson Hunting Club and also of the East Davidson Hunting Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Elvis Rorex of Georgia, Melton Rorex of Alabama, Kenneth Rorex of Tennessee, and Robert Rorex of Thomasville; sisters, Luna Garner, Mary Louis Poe, Marie Bivens of Alabama, and Dean Murray of Tennessee.
George is survived by his loving wife, Sally Floyd Rorex, of the home; son, Doyle Rorex and his wife Becky of Denton; daughter, Mitzi McDaniel and her husband Marc of Lexington; grandchildren, Drew Rorex and wife Jenn of Youngsville, Matthew Rorex of Denton; great grandchildren, Caroline and Davis Rorex of Youngsville; sisters, Josephine Phillips of Thomasville, Nancy Swearingan of Tennessee; brother, Raymond Rorex of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. on Monday December 5, 2011 at Thomasville Funeral Home followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 3:00 P.M. Interment will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
