Georgia Mae Lovelace Atkins

Georgia was born on April 15, 1928 in Caswell County to the late, Willie Thomas and Esther Perkins Lovelace. She was a member of Blessing Baptist Church and was the loving wife of Fred “Bill” Atkins. For many years she worked for National Spring Company in High Point and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Fred “Bill” Atkins in 1999; and two brothers, Willie Lee and Nick Lovelace.

Survivors include: her daughter, Joann Frank of Thomasville; grandchildren, David Thomas George and wife Heather and children, Farrari, Ethan, and Gavin George; granddaughter, Lora Mae Embler and husband Ray and children, Dakota, Anna, and Jason George; and sisters, Irene Rogers of St. Cloud, Florida, Vivian Wyatt of Reidsville, Ann Westbrook of Apopka, Florida, and Carol Brinson of Reidsville, to whom Georgia donated life-sustaining blood in infancy, which extends to her daughter, Tiffany L. Brewer. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Monday, August 1st in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Sunday, July 31st at the funeral home.
