

Van was born April 19, 1928 in Davidson County to the late Alonzo and Grace Clodfelter.
He served in the US Army during the Korean War, was a member of the VFW Post 2756, volunteered with the American Red Cross and retired from Thomasville Post Office after 35 years of service. Van also loved gardening and church and was a member of Holly Hill Wesleyan Church for 57 years. He was a Wesleyan Men’s Club member as well.
Van was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Clodfelter.
He is survived by his beloved wife Bobbie Clontz Clodfelter of the home; son, Randy Clodfelter and wife Sharon of Greensboro; daughter, Cathy Dye and husband Ronnie of Walnut Cove; sisters, Gretchen Hunt, Olean Heter, Odessa Boles, Suzanne Little and her husband Don, all of Thomasville; grandchildren, Wesley Clodfelter, Ashley Clodfelter, Wendy Jones, Kirk White and his wife Leighanne; 5 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomasville Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 15th
at Holly Hill Wesleyan Church with Pastor Mark Mullins officiating; burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park.
