

A resident of this area most of his life, Limmie was born on July 11, 1941 in Tabor City, NC to the late Gordon and Cordelia Powell Grainger. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries following many years of dedicated service. Limmie especially enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, and spending time doing yard work.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Jean Payne.
Surviving are his wife, Patsy Maness Grainger of the home; daughters, Janet Shores of Denton and Leigh Ann Lovern of Thomasville; son, Michael Grainger of Thomasville; eight grandchildren, Brandon Grainger, Tyler Shores, Blake Grainger, Dayln Grainger, Josh Lovern, McKayla Thompson, Dawson Garris, and Madison Garris. Also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Hayley Grainger and Khristian Sykes; and four special nieces.
A celebration of Limmie’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, with Rev. Jeff Walser and Rev. Marty Grainger officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
