
Mrs. Campbell was born in Mocksville, September, 30. 1924, a daughter of the late Edward McCleod Jones and Gladys Mae Leagans Jones. She was a 1942 graduate of Thomasville High School, a homemaker and she liked to garden and raise flowers. Mrs. Campbell loved her church and church family at Emanuel Reformed Church, where she was a member of the Young at Heart Sunday school class and the Women’s Circle. Mary delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence David Campbell, two sisters, Erma Grey Edinger and Rose Mae Horne and two brothers, Norman and William Jones.
Surviving are two daughters, Caren C. Beck and husband Danny and Ellen J. Brooks and husband Bennett; two sons, Bruce Campbell and wife Jane and Carl Ray Campbell; five grandchildren, Leah Robinson and husband Chris, Angelia Campbell, Sandie Leon and husband Nicholas, Cassie Campbell and Curtis Campbell and wife Brandy; three great-grandchildren, Savannah Grace Robinson, William Payne Robinson and Emma Caroline Campbell; an aunt, Dorothy Marx; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Reformed Church by Rev. Rickey Payne. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Thomasville Funeral Home Thursday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Emanuel Reformed Church building fund (roof).
