A resident of this area all of her life, Melba was born on July 8, 1940 in Davie County, NC to the late Lloyd and Vida Dunn Williams. She was of the Baptist faith and will be remembered for exceptional whit and sense of humor. She especially enjoyed watching TV shows like the Golden Girls, Walker Texas Ranger, and Blue Bloods. Melba also enjoyed going out to eat at Outback Steakhouse, drinking coffee, and listening to George Strait. She cherished spending time with her family and also her dogs.
Surviving are her daughters, Deana Stacey, Tracie Thomas, Renee Comer; sons, Kenneth, Keith, and Kelly Tate; son-in-law, Ed Comer; sisters, Marjorie Watson, Carolyn Lea, and Frances Sanderson; brother, William Wafford; 26 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
A gathering to celebrate Melba’s life will be held from 2 until 4 pm Saturday at Thomasville Funeral Home.
